How do I change my company name?

You are able to apply for a company name to be changed electronically using your unique authentication code. It is really straight forward to change the name of the company. You will be asked to provide details on the new company name and provide the authentication code.
If you are not aware of the authentication code, we are able to:

 

• Apply for a company authentication code to be sent to the registered office address
• Apply for the company name to be changed by paper

 

You are able to select either of these services from our “Additional Services” page.

 

What do I need to change my company name?

 

To change the company name electronically, we will require the following details:

 

• Company Name
• Company Number
• Authentication Code
• New Company Name

 

If you do not have access to your company authentication code, we can assist with obtaining the code, or we can proceed to change the company name by paper.

 

How long does it take to change my company name?

 

To apply for the company name to be changed electronically, you are able to choose from the following 2 services:

 

• Standard Service – 1-2 Days
• Same Day Service – 24 hours

 

What will I receive once my company name has been changed?

 

Once your company name has been changed and accepted by Companies House, you will receive a Certificate of Change of Name. This is an official certificate that confirms the following:

 

• Previous Company Name
• New Company Name
• Company Number
• Date the company name was changed

 

The certificate will be sent to you by provided email.
